In order to complete my education, I joined Gamabilis for a 6-month graduation internship, which was followed by a contract during the first weeks of 2019. This start-up focuses on "Games for Change", a type of serious games that pushes players to question their habits and the way they live, to initiate global changes toward a better future. However, since the company is still young and have to make a living, it also develops more traditional serious games following a business-to-business model.

LIFE CONTRASTS (School project | Nov. 2016)
Narrative | 1 player | PC
Engine: Unreal Engine 4
Solo project (Level Design)
This is a level project realized in two days by the end of a workshop with Christophe Lefaure, Level Architect at Arkane Studio. Everything had to be done with grey blocks, and was focused on contrasts (like grey levels, detail level, shapes…), so it could convey a proper feeling to the player according to the story we had in mind. We also had to produce a complete document explaining how the level had been thought according to these contrasts.
Here is the story of a poor man who works as a Santa Claus in a big shopping mall, on his way back home. The feeling I wanted to give was that the character feels exposed and insecure until he manages to reaches the district he lives in. This choice was so I could break from general thinking: here, the player wants to fly away from bright areas because dark ones fells a lot more peaceful, “poor” streets feels more welcoming than “rich” ones, daily life looks happier than Christmas times, and such.
