CAPACOCHA (School project | March 2016)

Sport | 2 VS 2 | PC

Engine: Unity

Role: Game Designer

We have finally created a sport game in which you can score by throwing you teammate, or even your opponents, in goals! Could there be a better way to turn things around with a classy move just a split second before time runs out? In Capacocha, four players face each other in two teams, and must score as much as they can before time is up. But the goals are orbiting around the field, so everybody has to move continuously, because if they cross the mid-line they turn into a ball!

This game was created in two weeks by a team of 21 students (from 2nd to 4th year) in two weeks, in partnership with Gameloft, according to the themes "Perpetual Movement", "Sacrifice" and "South America".

After coming up with the original concept, I spent most of these two weeks mentoring the students from 2nd year, writing the game's documentation and tweaking the prototype to ensure the gamefeel was good. We also worked a lot with the full Game Design team on core mechanics and controls iterations to ensure the game would have the "pick-up-and-play" style we were trying to reach.
